What does CLA do?

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) is a naturally occurring fatty acid that has been clinically proven to block the process of converting excess fat in your food to being stored as body fat. There are over 35 clinical medical research studies that have proven that it reduces body fat.

Ideally, CLA is best taken via the foods you eat. However, agriculture practices today have drastically reduced the amount of CLA found in dairy and beef. The best type of food to obtain CLA from is certified organic, 100% grass-fed beef and cheese. Unfortunately, there is not enough CLA found even in the highest quality meat and dairy foods.

How does CLA actually work?

As an estimate, you would likely need to spend around $100-200/week to get enough from food, depending on things like age, height, weight, gender, and activity level, etc.

There doesn’t appear to be any effects of alcohol with CLA itself, however excessive alcohol intake can inhibit muscle growth and training recovery and also adds up as unnecessary calories, all which could nix the effects of CLA.

 

Is CLA safe to take?

CLA is safe to take and have been on the market since approximately early 1990’s. Many studies have been done on CLA and topics like fat metabolism, glucose metabolism, liver interactions, fat mass, hormones, cardiovascular health, exercise performance, inflammation and immunology.

Many people can take CLA with no issues, however the CLA side effects can include upset stomach, diarrhea, nausea, and fatigue. It is always a good idea to speak with your healthcare provider before starting any supplement regimen.

 

What is the recommended dosage for CLA?

The recommended daily dose for CLA is 3-6g. You can take CLA every day, however since CLA is seen as a fat burner it can be cycled on and off every 2-3 weeks.

The best time of the day to take CLA is with your meals throughout the day.

The upper limit is anything above 6g/day, so you shouldn’t take more than this. CLA is not recommended during pregnancy.

    I think CLA is one of the most under-rated supplements ever. Especially if you have kids or a high stress job because stress and lack of sleep can lead to increased fat loss. I take CLA every month and this one is better and cheaper than the previous one i was taking.

    A lot of info online says that CLA does not work immediately. Even the description above says same thing.

    1 month in and I'm already startin to see cut lines on my obliques. It's not anything crazy but like I said it's only been a month!
